When will my Americauna start laying?

My green-egg-laying EE looked like this when she laid her first egg at a little more than 28 weeks old.

That picture above doesn't really have perspective - she fills up the frame. Here's a worse picture of her (she's in back), but you can see her size a little better. The pop door she's going out is about 11" high.

I will keep an eye out. Your EE's are much fuller then Nema. I hope Nema is eating enough. They have plenty of food available all the time. We have 8 chickens and get about 5-6 eggs a day. So, we remain hopeful that Nema will lay a green egg. Waters...I saw you give your silkie a bath? Our Bantam Cochins are white, and their feet get pretty muddy. What do you use to wash your silkie to keep her white? I never thought about giving them a bath!

We have 8 Chickens...We spotted Nema in the nest box and spied on her until we saw her come out of the coop. And, I have a total of 8 eggs today! I think she is not going to lay green eggs. Can you tell which one is hers? I think it is the big golden one. The two smaller ones that are more brown I think are RIR, and the other 3 are the Buff Orpingtons, and the 2 small ones are easy...they are the bantam cochins. I was wishing for a colorful egg box.

I am glad for the miracle of the egg...but, disappointed.

Beautiful eggs!! Looks like maybe one is more pinkish looking (3rd from the bottom on the right), maybe that's her's. Some EE's lay pink eggs.

Hi Nancy, I see you are from Morris County. I grew up in NJ and went to HS in Morristown. I now live in Utah where I acquired my first chickens. Americaunas being 6 of them. I love them. I have a new one now about 7 months old still not laying. 3 leghorns started laying at about 5 months and my marans started about 6 months. I don't remember when my other 6 started. It was 5 years ago and I had 30 assorted chickens at the time. I was on line checking on Americaunas today for the same reason when I came across this site. I see you got a huge golden tan egg finally. Congratulations!! I guess mine will be laying soon.
