advice. We will be stopping in Nassau, St John and St Marteen. We haven't decided just what we are going to do on the islands yet. Has anyone been to something that you really enjoyed. This is our first Cruise

We took our first cruise 1 year ago February - It was a 4 day cruise from Galveston to Cozumel on Carnival. We really had a great time and enjoyed all of the festivities on the ship.

One thing I wished that we would have known beforehand was to request a cabin in the middle of the ship. We were on the rear end and could feel everything. We didn't think that we would feel so much rocking, but we went through some rough weather and got a little seasick. My mother and sister had a room in the middle of the ship and didn't feel a thing.

Have a great time!

Get yourself "the patch" and you won't have any sea sickness. My entire family and I are the most motion sensitive people on the face of the earth, just looking at the ocean can make us queezy. I took entire family on cruise last Christmas, everyone wore the patch and no one got the least bit sick. It takes a doctors prescription but many, like doc in the box, will give you a prescription without a visit - and it only takes one patch for the whole week - don't use a fresh one each day or you'll o.d.

Also, make sure you have passports - new requirements for cruises out of country.

Lucky!!! I've never been on a cruise but get so motion sick that it really isn't on my top ten list. Bring back alot of pictures and have a great time!!

never been on a cruise but I have been to nassau and St Maarten. I like St M better than Nassau, it's a strange island 1/2 french and 1/2 dutch. you drive around and all of a sudden you cross a line and the language on the shops changes...drive more and you come back to the other language.

If you get the chance go by the airport when one of the Air France 747's is landing, just dont stand on the beach at the end of the runway of you'll be sorry.

thats not a photoshop thats the real deal.

I cant say what to do really, i know you only get limited time off the ship. One of my best vacations ever was to St Maarten
watch out for the nude beaches LOL..Cupocoy and Orient Beach i know of for sure. We ended up meeting a local guy there and becoming friends with him, he showed up around the island and even came and found us at our hotel when we had too many drinks and my gf left her camera in his cousins cab the night before.

Back to Nassau, it's nice and all..go check out The Atlantic resort, we stayed there for a few days, very cool hotel, even had a waterslide that goes right through the shark tank and a pretty cool walk through aquarium. If it's still there you can go to Blue Lagoon Island, they have a dolphin swim program , we got to swim with a momma and baby and also mess around in shallow water with the dolphin from the flipper movie they made a few years ago.

they also had a place called sting ray city but I think it's closed now because of hurricane damage. you could go dive and feed the stingrays. i did the one in the cayman Islands and it was really cool except i got bit by a yellowtail snapper LOL

Wow, the airplane pic is awesome. Good news is we have never had the motion sickness. I don't know exactly where our stateroom will be but we have one with a 4x5 foot window. I am going to ask for a upgrade to balcony if they can do it for free. If we get a balcony room it will be 400 extra dollars. As long as I can see out that will help. We will be on a 7 day cruise and I think I said St John but it is St. Thomas and St marteen.

When I was 18 my family fly to Antigua. All I can remember is:

TAKE BOTTLED WATER WITH YOU WHEN YOU DOCK!!!! DO NOT DRINK THE WATER, DO NOT BRUSH YOUR TEETH WITH THE WATER.

We had to go home early, I lost 20 pounds I didn't need to lose and had diahrrea for 2-3 weeks after we returned. This was in the late 80's, so things may have changed. Better safe than sorry though.

My sister-in-law is leaving on her '6th', they go for spring break...they love it...
They usually go on the Princess line, Carnival. They went on a different line this last time...will check on that too.
I emailed her to see where they go...
will get back with you.
She buys jewelry when there...she says it's cheap and really pretty.

We took two cruises of the caribean on the Royal caribbean cruise line (Mariner of the Seas and Legend of the Seas)

Had a wonderful time on both cruises. We went to Grand Cayman, Costa maya and Belize on the first one. Coccay, St. Maarten and Cozumel on the second.

I'd go again in a heartbeat and reccomend it to anyone who wants to go on a cruise. Enjoy!

Thanks for the encouragement Steve, Sounds like you had a great time. We are going on Carnival Glory
Gwen don't you think that is just the Lord that we are going on the Glory. I look forward to hearing what your sister has to say to.
