OMG OMG OMG scarey moment with the neighbors......

I was just outside trying to get pics of a hen that has a crop problem ( pics on other thread ) and I had my back facing the *&^%$ neighbor who let his dog out while my roo was in thier yard ( yea theres another thread about that ) anyway I am holding the hen and behind me i hear cars pulling up and I hear LOUD knocking on the door followed by " THIS IS THE POLICE RAID OPEN UP AND GET ON THE FLOOR " I thought it was a friend of thiers playing a joke - I have one that likes to come over late at night and do this to us drives me crazy - anyway I turn around to see police cars in the driveway , I hear loud foot stomping in the house the backdoor flies open than I quickly closed, cops walking around wearing bullet proof vest , taking pics of everything - I told my girls I love but I ran my chicken scaried butt back in the house LOL there is an under cover cop car in the front of my house.
DH comes home is wondering the hell is going on - he notices one of the officers as a friend of his and goes over to ask what is going on ( yea DH is very nosey he even has a police scanner ) anyway officer tells him " If they have been bothering you - they wont be now " and left it at that.

Ok other than the loud music they play on the weekend while drinking and playing horse shoes and there dogs running loose we dont really have much to do with them.
we know them by name thats about it, we know they are heavy drinkers and they are heavy pot smokers - but a police raid ??

we have the same land lord as them maybe he knows something

I feel for ya, that happened here too. It was the sheriffs dept and they came out like ninjas with rifles...it was scarey.

Holy Cow Julie!!! I read that thread earlier about your roo and the weird neighbor and dog...bless your heart, what a day. Maybe they will gone for a long time, say 10 - 20 years?!

yeh sounds like they were dealin weed too... I dont know why
the cops even bother with weed, theres gotta be better things they can do with thier time

Yikes! Yeah, I bet they were dealing in something heavier than pot. At least around here we wouldn't get a full raid for weed, since well... It's as COMMON as weeds (pun intended) over here, haha.

But yikes, that would have scared the crap out of me! I would have been nosey and asked whats up also

well, I tell ya, you gotta watch out, because this sort of thing can happen if an "informant" tells the police that he/she has seen marijuana on your property

and they do not even have to verify that it IS marijuana

was having a conversation on another list and found that this sort of "raid" had gone on when the people in question were growing:

Japanese Maple
Texas Hibiscus
Aralia

and one of my neighbors on Maui was detained because someone reported he had marijuana in his yard ... there is a weed there, do not know what it is, that has leaves that look like stylize marijuana leaves, but it is a VINE, it is WILD, and it has auburn-brown hairy twining stems ...

every time I see that in my yard, I yank it out

(I know that tenants we had, since departed, DID grow marijuana on the property, totally busting the rental contract, "supposedly" they had a permit for medical purposes, but when I queried the police about that (after they had left owing us a bunch of rent money) .. there was no record of any such)

once upon a time I was stopped at the US-Canada border, while agents investigated what I had in a plastic bag --- it was CATNIP as I used the time spent waiting for my purebred cat to be judged, by knitting mice which I then filled with catnip and sold at the show

they let me back into the US after the customs guys tasted the stuff, then offered some to my cat (in a carrier in the car)

Wow!!! I guess your problem with the rooster going over the fence isn't quite as urgent now but, what a scare it had to give you!

My mom worked nights and one mid day she got up to a raid on the neighbor behind them. That was the DEA and they had their guns drawn. She decided the dog didn't have to go to the bathroom afterall!
