Exchequer Leghorns

I have seven right now.

They have become one of my all time favourites! They do tend to be flighty when not handled regularly since birth. I was lucky to get my hands on them and haven't meet anyone else at the shows of have them.

There's someone on eggbid (or was the other day) with some under standard chicks who was doing a test hatch with them, I remember. Check it out.

We got some from Mckinney and Govero when they were still around, they didnt have that good of type and the color was more mottled, they were calm though, the hens didnt lay as much as other leghorns, and the eggs were tinted, not white. The exchequer pattern is supposed to be more pied than mottled. If you are getting them from Ideal, I have heard that their birds are more leghorn like and lay better, but the pattern is more mottled like an ancona.

Hi! I raise exchequer leghorns. They are a wonderful bird. I sold some eggs to a lady on this website. She posted the pictures of the chicks on here. If you are interested in some eggs, let me know. I am getting ready to put some in the incubator today. I just love this breed. I'm glad to know others are interested in this beautiful rare bird.

I got eggs from beechtreeacres! I love, love, LOVE these little guys. I got 7 healthy babies and they are sooo beautiful. Each one is an individual, with different marks, and very flashy. They may be a teeny tiny bit flighty, but that works for me, because I would like to let them free range alittle bit. Though they do seem to be okay with being held.

This is one of my new favorite breeds! I didn't realize I'd like them as much as I do.

I need to get new photos, but here they are when they hatched

. I saw the listing on eggbid as well but its no longer there. I saw some a couple years ago at a show they were beautiful.

If you have some in early May I'd love them.
