How high for the perch?

How high should we put the roosting perch? Would they rather have a perch that looks out the window or would they rather be up higher, more closer to the ceiling?

Some chickens prefer up high and others lower.  Our roosts are @ three different levels in our coop.  Hope that helps?

I have 2 levels one about 10 inches up, and the other about 2.5 feet up, They are both in front of a window, they love looking out the window.  I would try to do two levels, if they could have window view that is awesome.

Good Luck

like the lady said, multiple heights in the coop, i believe this also is determined by
peck order...
also i've cut some saplings/trees, about 3 in in diameter, and will make my roosts out
of these... i'm hoping it will simulate a more natural setting for them.
