anyone know

You should be able to find the ordinances either online or by going to the town hall.

PS. You might get more and better response if your title describes the topic instead of a generic "anyone know".

What I was just told by our zoning dept today, go down there and talk to someone and if they say it's ok get it in writing. If not ok then ask them to show you the ordinances. If you have it in writing, even if someone somewhere down the line says no it wasn't legal you would still have that paper to back you up.

As of today,

Sec. 4-11 Keeping of certain animals prohibited.

D. It shall be unlawful and the same is hereby declared to be a nuisance for any person to
keep, harbor, or possess any farm animals in the Town on any premises which has open
land of less than one-half (0.5) acre in lot area, whether or not the premises is also used
as a residence, this section shall not apply to 4-H projects. For purposes of this section
“farm animals” shall mean cattle, cows, horses, sheep, swine, lambs, goats, poultry,
rabbits, and any other animals generally considered as indigenous to agriculture.

I am meeting with the Chesterton town council on Monday 11/10/2014 to get this lot size requirement lifted to allow chickens as pets.
