How To Sex A Chicken - Wisdom From An Old Timer

Hi and congrats on the babies! As for sexing your birds, is it possible for you to get head on, face front photos that shows the birds comb and wattles? That will help a lot in sexing them! At their age , the girls have small pink combs and no or very small wattles. The males will have a larger comb usually reddish and fairly developed wattles . Males will have pointy hackle feathers while females will be more rounder. Also if you look at their feet, males feet even at this age, tend to be larger and thicker. The male and female both will have spur buds. The female will walk closer to the ground and the male even at this age will stand proudly and puff out his chest. He might stand proud and flap his wings, however girls will do this too while establishing the pecking order. I hope this helps a bit and if you can get those face first photos it will help a lot! Best wishes.
