i have been feeding them the basic starter feed but what else can i feed them so they are healthy and grow up nice and big?

Try digging up some earth worms for them. They'll know what to do with them, and it will bond them to you faster than anything! Besides the super high quality protein you're giving them, they'll be giving you some pretty high quality, hilarious entertainment as they play keep-away with the worms.

i gave them a huge beetle the other day and they kept playin keep away. the momma was watchin them. they never really left her side while they played.
Chick starter is all they need to grow up healthy and big. I wonder why you think they need something else? While it is nice and fun to give them other things it is completely unnecessary. Further earth worms and other "natural" food may carry parasites that can overwhelm a chicks system. Though I haven't had any problems so far.
While I have both broody chicks and incu chicks, broody chicks dont' seem to grow as fast as brooder chicks. I suspect because brooder chicks eat more.

they are growing fast and they seem to be doing quite well with just starter. but i was seeing that people fed their chicks small weeds, or small portions of veggies.

Boiled egg is over 20 % protein and they love it dont feed greens ect untill you have gave them grit

I mix plain yogurt with some of their feed, They love it!!!!!
