Why cant you simply wash them. I rinse eggs when soiled with muddy feet. Is it that you do not want to remove the natural protection?? I do refrigerate all that I wash, and they usually do get eaten quickly. I don't have many laying hens ether. Right now none are laying due to molt, age, or attitude of being on strike,
I wash the ones that WE use here. I read that in Illinois if you sell them to people, you cannot hand wash them. You have to get commercial washing equipment. I'm not wanting to give that "One Buyer" a reason to show up and complain to the state. You never know who that's gonna be.
Paranoid?! Who me??!?
