Today's egg haul may not be very impressive, but that big green egg in front certainly is. That egg is from Tyrion, my 11-yr-old Easter Egger!

is it a double yolker?
Probably not, but I haven't eaten it yet. She has always had longer shaped eggs that have grown larger over the years. The shell is still good quality when compared to some of my 5-8 yr old hens. This hen had earned Best in Show for her eggs 4 different years. However, these past few years, she tends to stop from July until mid March. It's OK, though. The hen contributes a lot more in personality and great stories.

With my Easter hatch coming soon, I've been hoping for a broody. A very unlikely candidate started hanging out in the nest box for a few days and is now grumbling at me.

It's my golden Spitzhauben, Sprinkles. They are a very unlikely broody breed - unless they live at @homeschoolin momma 's house. I wonder what kind of mother she will be.
More than likely a great one. All mine have been very good mothers.
