Illinois...

Hi all! We got our three girls (Nick, Winston and Schmidt - buff orpingtons) last summer, but I am new to the forums. I am in central Illinois and wanted to say hello!

We were interested in possibly getting a couple girls to add to the flock, but since we are in town we don't want six or more so if anyone knows of someone local who is willing to sell 2 I would love to know! Thank you!

I scored this automatic chicken door on Temu for half price several days ago. I just installed it a bit ago and am very happy with it so far. It's programmable to open and close at specific times or sunrise/set. It's all metal and seems quite secure - certainly better than the many plastic ones I saw listed. I got it for any $30.

Welcome to Illinois thread,,, and :welcome
Check some other feed stores,, They may not have the 6 minimum

I need to rehome my Large hen. She is being too mean to my banties. I don't want to keep her isolated forever,,
She is between 3 and 4. and lays nice XL eggs. Those I will miss.
She is FREE, and I can deliver, or meet halfway if desired.
I will try to get a picture in a day or two.

Is it Wendy the Welsummer? I'd be willing to take her.

No it is not. Wendy went to the rainbow bridge last year or so. :(, She passed peacefully. Few months later, My 11 year old RIR MaryJane did same. They are buried side by side in my flower garden.
It is LO, the mixed hen. She is a sweet hen,,, just not good with my seramas. She lays well, and am sure would get along with larger hens. She gets along with the new larger bantams I got from Peoria, last October. Those bantams I thing are game birds possibly, but not sure. They lay larger eggs than my other bantams, but small nonetheless.
How I wish I still had Wendy. She got along with the seramas very well.
When I do find a home for LO, I will be looking for some gentle LF chickens so we can have eggs.
I have been keeping LF and Banties like forever,,, and there was never a problem.:idunno
BTW,,, my chickens are healthy, with no known illnesses.
