can a goose wear a diaper?

I don't know if you could even do it with a goose but my dad potty trained a cockatoo. She had a potty perch that she would go to and go potty. Also she did 'on demand' potty training. So when she was out she would only potty when my dad held her out and said the magic word "squirt" Of course geese are a little different but they are smart so maybe it could be possible to potty train a goose. I wouldn't keep a goose indoors but I certainly would keep one on the front yard if I could keep it from pooping all over the place and on the porch.

I found this on www.indoorducks.com:

"Ducks cannot be "potty trained" like other indoor pets due to their anatomy. They lack a particular muscle that allows animals like dogs and cats to "hold it"."

I've read the same thing in several other places. Apparently, poultry lack the sphincter muscle that allows them to "hold the poop".

Even if you could teach your goose to go in a litter tray, it would be a rather disgusting tray.

A friend of mine has pottytrained his cockatoo through great patience and dedication, but cockatoo poop is nowhere near goose poop when it comes to smell and especially volume.

We have a gosling that hatched inside (on my lap) and wants nothing to do with its parents and siblings out in the barn so it is going to be a house goose is there a simple disorder solution we can use until it gets full size?
