I'm thinking about going since I live here in Lonoke.  Are you bringing any to sell?

Silkies are more likely to get pasty butt.  So you want to keep an eye on them 2-3 times a day.  Very spunky but can over heat from the heat lamp.   They tend to be pretty delicate for the first week. Good luck and hope you have a wonderful, healthy bunch of chicks!

I took my Madagascar hens.  There weren't very many chickens there this time though.  Alot of rabbits.

Oh wow, I don't need to get started on rabbits! So hard to say no. Got my hands full with chicks. LOL  Maybe I can make it to the next one. Went to Russellville instead to help my sister.  Long trip but very nice visit. Came back and the FBCM, MF'Duccles and Blue Polish all laid eggs for me. What great chickens! Now I just need my RIRs to get a little bigger to lay. Can't wait for the new coops from JIMFARMSTAND  (Hall family) to come. Looking to spread out some of my new chicks that are getting big.

There are many people around here wanting "just started laying pullets". Of course they only want to pay $5 or less each.  I think i will keep my hens until i can get $15.

I sold a few with no problems.   I wouldn't sell a laying hen for under 15, no way.

I'm buying baby chicks like crazy. I've got 13 right now. I bought my RIR hens for $10 a piece. I put a Delaware cockerel up on craigslist for $2 and got 5 e-mails the first day.
