New Feature - Easy Forum Avatars - YAY

Thread Starter

One of the most frequently posted problems in this section of BYC is around the forum user Avatar.    Members have a hard time with the image being too big and finding ways to resize it.   Many just give up  sad

Well, we've added an automatic image resizing feature to the avatar upload process.    We still HIGHLY suggest that you crop and resize your image before uploading it, but in the event that your avatar is too big, our system will now try to resize it instead of just rejecting it.

ya

Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.   Here's how:

Click on the "Profile" link at the top of the page in the main blue menu.
On the left menu in your profile click "Personality"
The first option is your avatar.  Here's where you can upload your image that represents you!

Tech details:
The default behavior was to reject any uploaded avatar image whose dimensions exceed those set in the options.  Now the system will attempt to automatically resize those images to the maximum allowed dimensions, maintaining their aspect ratio. If the file size is larger than allowed by the options, the upload will still be rejected.

Sounds great Nifty, you guys are always making it easier! Thanks!

Don't get all your exercise leaping to conclusions!

Poultry- they may be your pets, they may be your hobby, they may be your livestock. But remember, if you fall down in the pen, unconscious? They WILL eat you.

Yay! It works perfectly. Thanks! celebrate

I live with four horses, two ponies, two dogs, three cats, a cat that thinks he's a dog, and my best friends. I work at an appaloosa-breeding barn and I'm working on a degree in Japanese. Yeah, life's pretty good.

RIP Great Expectations flock.
