Yes, I am in the US and I am hoping to get true Chocolate birds.

OK, The only person I know that has True Chocolate Orps is green fire farm.
True Chocolate is Sex-Linked and if a has the gene she will show Chocolate she can not hide it or be "Split" for it..

Chris

Has Greenfire already got them or are they still in the process of importing them? I just haven't seen and update on their site. The last I saw was they are still working on importation. It would be great if they already have them.

Germaine here is a link to see a true Chocolate.
On the Practical Poultry Forum in UK they show them all the time and I think you can google Ramsely Orps and they have them in Large fowl.

I read this on a website about choc orps ...

Chocolate Orpingtons breed true - but there are some breeding combinations that are worth noting:

Chocolate Male X Chocolate Female = 100% Chocolate
Black Male X Chocolate Female = 50% Black Males carrying Chocolate, 50% Black Females
Chocolate Male X Black Female = 50% Black Males carrying Chocolate, 50% Chocolate Females
Black Male carrying Chocolate X Chocolate Female = 25% Chocolate Males, 25% Black Males carrying Chocolate, 25% Chocolate Females, 25% Black Females
Black Male carrying Chocolate X Black Female = 25% Black Males carrying Chocolate, 25% Black Males, 25% Chocolate Females, 25% Black Females.
Black males carrying the chocolate gene are called 'Split' cockerels.

Ohhhhh is my first and last thought as I looked at the Chocolate Orps. Beautiful, so beautiful. Thank you Julie and Chris!

Julie I just looked again and I didn't get your pm. Can you send another? I finally took some pictures of the babies, but they are not babies any more. I have to upload them and then I will post them!

Kathy, thank you for putting the genetic info up for us, you are always so thoughtful and sharing!!
