.....is it JUST the yolk, or the entire egg? I read on an older thread that the white isn't as easily dissolved, so I was torn on what to do when I did feed my chicks this as a treat.

I fed the entire egg (but it was scrambled) and everyone survived.

I fed mine the entire egg as well and barely kept my fingers!
I didn't get a vitamin pack with the delievery of my chicks, so they got a hard boiled egg, and LOVED IT! 3 days old and eating egg already! (Just for the first meal after they had their sugar water) took 2 eggs for 34 chicks.
I used a whole boiled egg. I took a fork and mashed it up so that there were no distinguishable pieces. When the first one tried it, they all joined in and it was gone in a heart beat! It was almost scary...the little velociraptors.....
I feed the whole egg, mash it all up really good as well. My chickens go gaga over it. More like ape!

That's what I thought! I'll run it through our food chopper for a second so it's all mashed up!

Ya'll didn't tell me they'd go into a 'boiled egg coma' and I'd get one to fall asleep perching on my thumb!

Boiled egg is like chickie crack I think.
I gave mine boiled egg, mashed up very finely. And I didn't give them any grit (oops!). They have survived and thrived in spite of my error.
