Go chickies!  We only hear it after they have pipped and start the unzipping process but our 1 dog must hear it as she was trying to stare into the bator for our last hatch.  Since she and chicks don't do well together, we had to take her out of the room.

Thanks Pink!  We actually had 17 hatch out on Feb 14th, a total of 21 eggs went into lockdown.  We now have 12 eggs in the incubator due to come out March 10th.  After that the only incubation planned is for the Marans eggs and we'll be watching what we hatched grow to pick the next ones from.

Been really busy so I'm just checking in.
There's a lot going on here!
Good luck to everyone setting eggs, locking down and pipping!
Hoping for the best for Marans in Newnan!

Gotta go.... 11 baby goat kids to take care of (one in the bathroom right now...)
Human kind of kids here to feed.
Hens laying like crazy... never enough egg cartons.

Shelley~ I am so sorry to hear about your broody, how disappointing, and such pretty eggs too. I wish you luck with them and hope that they do something. Good luck with the new ones that you set. BTW: don't be in a hurry to put that 'bator away too soon.....your coming up on my waiting list very soon. smile

Thanks for posting pictures and keeping me updated. I really appreciate it!
hugs

I am very hopeful that they will hatch because the cochin eggs are still kickin and they were in the same nest!  I had to throw a couple white eggs in so that I could see how the hatch was going.  If I couldnt see in ANY of the eggs I would go nuts!

I had a customer of mine ask to "borrow" my Gnarles son!  I said "No way!  he is too valuable to me"  but I would sell her eggs!

I thought we were the only crazy chicken people who also end up with baby goats in the house?  Glad we are not alone!
