I put two paper towels on top of the wire floors and put the eggs on the towels. They don't cover the entire wire surface but they sure make it easier to clean up. The only time I have problems with chicks getting dried is if some have piped and I open the incubator to remove chicks already hatched.

Anyone have any trouble hatching on the wire floors?

So far, I've had two chicks get dried as they were zipping and need help...

Is it the winter humidity (it was 56% at the time - higher now with more chicks hatching) or is it the fan and wire floor??

This is my first time hatching on the wire hatching trays!!

Well this near west-coaster is still up, hopefully someone will answer this tomorrow. This has probably already been answered somewhere, but having trouble finding it. I joined APA and got my SOP book after the Black Copper Marans were admitted. How do I find/get a copy of the approved standard for the BCM?

so Debbie it looks like you are right.... now that they are more dry and fluffy they are looking black.  oh well I guess just wishful thinking on my part, as I loved the size on that blue rooster that I lost.  But still, I got 6 chick so far and lots more pips!  I love hatchingjumpy.gif

I'll post pictures when they are done.

Sooooo, how did these Silver Salmon hens place?

And is that white in the wing triangle of the Silver Black Birchen? Do you happen to have another photo of this guy? If not, no biggie but I sure am curious as to the white wing triangle.
