I'm sorry about chick 12... it is always so sad to lose one.

Love the picture with the Teddy!  I am so very pleased that you had such a fantastic hatch.

Before you know it, you will have gorgeous dark brown eggs :)

Sadly the lame one who wasn't getting up had to be culled today. He (she) was spastic and shaking and had a small bulge of pink (spinal cord????) on it's back. It was one I helped hatch (since I was worried about shrink wrapping after last week's hatch) but I guess it wasn't meant to hatch... it wouldn't even stand when supported, it flipped it's head over and seemed to want to be on its side or back. We miss #12, but are so happy with #1-11. It was a great hatch...as I've stated before, for shipped eggs from TX to NJ. Wow!

I'm starting to get pretty amused by these teensy eggs, but am really starting to wonder if they have yolks, but can't seem to bring myself to crack one open. haha The bonus is that they keep getting darker and more even in color tone haha

Super cute teddy bear marans pic!

Nice eggs Vicki ! I just went and picked up a pair of baby Sebastapol goslings. OMG They are so cute, they act more like puppies than geese. They like to lay with thier head snuggled either on your shoulder or on your leg and will follow you everywhere.

Christie Rae: 'name the parents "L & M", oh, forget I said that?! Too funny!

Lisa, so sorry about chick 12, and oh, my, what a beautiful hatch. I can't wait till mine start laying and I can hatch beauties and confuse myself with Marans Algebra.

I'm going to try to post pictures from my phone... Perhaps THAT is the route for me. Humph!hmm.png

Cool pictures and good luck to those hatching or has baby chicks out!

We just removed the turner and have set 13 eggs on the rack.  They are due to hatch March 27th, tried candling a couple but very dark fl.gif.  These are eggs out of my cuckoo and blue cuckoo pullets x Blue Cuckoo Marans rooster(he is their father), so daughters(F1) crossed back to parent(P)

my friend's broody did hatch out 1 chick but one of her other hens got into the area where the broody and chick where and the chick didn't make it.  My friend was very upset and felt bad for us as she was planning to give us the chick back.  Guess that happens.

Our Crew: 2 human adults, 3 human kids, 1 Aussie,1 Cocker, 5 rabbits,  Andalusians,  Welsummers,  Cuckoo Marans, IB and White Peafowl, 1 pair Red Golden Pheasants
