It was the same here...they kept pointing out our town at one point as in the center of the path for one of the tornadoes. It was coming at 60 miles an hour and just kind of stayed between my house and town 3 miles away. There are trees along a creek that is about half way between that has trees just snapped off.....some of them are a foot or more in diameter. I think we both were being taken care of.

 

I am just hoping that whatever path these storms have before they peter out will not do any more major damage to anyone!
 

 

 

I'm sure glad you are ok! I've seen these storms move in at 65mph before, and they left some serious damage, but never have I seen them coming at 85mph! I'll be curious to see what kind of damage they did to the north of me. I've not heard anything on the news yet.

And, my Wheatens are due to hatch this Friday!!

Me too...I was watching the news this morning to hear how things went down your way and didn't hear anything....

Morning   Glad to hear that the storms passed by, we ended up with rain and wind here by us- they had been forecasting possible tornados and hail.  Still very windy here today!

I have yet to take any pictures of my Cuckoo Marans chicks- they are now coming up on 3 weeks- where does the time go!

Glad to hear you all survived the storms okay.  I have been dealing with a major predation problem here. Last week something took two olive egger hens. The freerange and much of our property and surrounding area is dense woods.  They don't usually go into the woods but on the outskirts of this one corner area. Yesterday 2 full grown Marans hens and a huge rooster went missing as well and they hung out in that same area. These weren't my best breeding stock so wasn't using them in the breeding pens so they freerange. They were still pretty decent birds though!

 

Whatever is taking them, leaves no sign whatsoever no feathers, etc. I saw an eagle yesterday evening when I was putting the birds up for the night. It was alone and sitting up in a tree near the main coop, the birds were already missing by that time and he wasn't eating anything. I don't know what could have came quietly and took 3 birds in one shot with no feathers lost and in broad daylight..even, unless it was a group of large birds. I haven't seen any dogs around. Once in awhile we have a fox but they come alone.  The other 2 OE hens went missing in the late morning sometime. 

 

Hensandroos would love to see your cuckoo babies. I have some cooking right now that are supposed to be feather shanked, can't wait for them to hatch.

I have white shank feathers coming in on one of my BCM roos.  This is bad, no?  Freezer camp?

Morning everyone sure glad you all have made it through the bad storms all in one piece even the West Coast had to get in some wild and woolly weather last week just happy that the wind has calmed down a bit and the weather is going to be springlike for this week high 70's to mid 80's yeah...I was hot yesterday and it was only 70. I have plenty of weeds to get rid of before the ground dries up.....I might have an Annabel she's been so good setting on her eggs but yesterday all I found were 2 dead chicks...I didn't want to disturb her more first time being a broody and all I did glimpse several unhatched eggs so I have hope. In my incubators I have pips today is due day I left my camera at my brother's so I will try with my phone when I have some hatched pretty exciting for me my first hatch of Birchens 20 or so of those good thing I'll be outside mostly

I am confused...did this bird come from my birds? Or some chicks that you hatched from me are showing the ghost barring like the cockerel that I posted a photo of?

How old is the bird and do you have photos?

He is almost 4 mons.  I was pleased with how he was fattening up, concerned a little with hackle color....  but generally feeling okay about him.  Then, the white feathers.  I'll try to get pics.  We've got some hot dry weather and I've got quite a bit more watering to do before getting the lil one to the dentist for an abcess.
