BTW...she's a cutie pie!

Thanks. I plan on hanging on to her and see how she turns out. Just thought she was different and wanted to post her so someone could give me some insight, which you did.

How well do Marans lay?

23 in the bator now.

I hatched 12 last week but some are a mix of easter egger or Jersey giant.

All are fathered by a BCM though.

Some have feathered leggs.

Were they sold to you as Marans?

I bought 12 mixed eggs from someone local and they gave me 4 pure marans eggs. All the marans eggs hatched through the night or when I was at work so I don't know which ones are the pure breed ones. I have never had marans before. The white chick has feathered green legs, so I am assuming she is one of the EE's but I wanted to check just in case I'm wrong.

I got an egg today like Wynette's from one of my cuckoos.  Do the eggs go though a couple of COLORING places.  The egg was a nice uniform brown all over and then the DARK ink started and ran out half way.  How did the WHOLE egg get a reg brown coating?  You could even see where the ink started to SPIT the last drops of ink lau.gif
