I am growing up a bunch of Blue Coppers--there are sprigs in the background of my blue and splash hens (they don't have them, but another blue that came from the same person had sprig). They are bred to my Black Coppers, and I have seen no sprigs in that bloodline. I remember some saying they saw them pretty young. Would I be safe if none seen by 2 months? 3 months? Thanks.

Marcy ~ The sprigs usually show up in very tiny form, at about 4 weeks. Some may see them sooner, that's just what my old eyes see here. Bottoms of the feet should be white.

I'm a momma to a 5 to 6 day old baby kitty. His real momma I found hit on the road day before yesterday....broke my heart, but he's keepin me distracted. Little turd doesn't even have his eyes open yet, but marches around on his wobbly legs, purr non stop and sure lets you know when he's not happy!

I noticed a sprig on a 2 month old cockerel. It might have been there sooner but I didn't notice till then.

How old is your bird? Looks about 5-6 weeks?? I see no wattles, so I would guess she is a she!

Cool! She is doing well for 4 weeks!

My little stinkers made it out to the coop again today with Big Daddy Clyde, plus two pullets. Poor Clyde was beside himself when the pullets started to bully the young ones. He figured it out really quick though; "you pick on them, I'll breed you!" gig.gif I swear, this place is a funny farm! The chicklets were very happy to go into the transport cage tonight. Tomorrow night, they will spend their first night out in the coop in a crate so every chicken can see them. Seems like a week of that, and they are good to go. The hens though are some evil witches! So at night when they are first turned loose, Uncle Pip will take over their protection. I never knew the roos would be so good, and the girls sooooooo bad!!!
