Pink, a couple of VERY knowledgeable and experienced breeders commented on the purple/green sheen thing over on the Ameraucana thread, yesterday, I believe, so you won't have to scroll back far. You might want to check it out.
I've also had 2 sticky hatches this year. Results much like you describe. Silkies and Ameraucanas.
Very frustrating. I've got a broody sitting right now - (Blue Copper Marans sitting on Blue and Black Copper eggs). I'm curious to see how those hatch - in all this crazy heat. I figure they'll incubate in about 14 days
- assuming they haven't fried. It's GOT to be 110 degrees under my poor girl.
