First, watching a runner duck run is awesome. They can find their own food. They aren't like pekins in water. Mine haven't started laying but I heard their decent.

Its not as fat and slow as a pekin, but its not frail either. I want a mallard but I don't want a flying bird. The rouen is great for that.

They are my calmest birds and are easiest to catch. They eat less than Pekins. I heard they also lay well, but mine are younger.

So we thought we were collecting D'uccle eggs... boy were we wrong. LOL Seems our Sebright was laying instead, so here is what we got! Sebright/ D'Uccle's! Se'Uccles. We ended up with 3 roosters & 2 hens. They are actually VERY pretty and do have feathers on their feet. We have too many roosters so these guys have to go but I wanted to get some opinions on them first. So what do you think?

Homeschool Mom to 5 Great kids (4, 10, 14, 16, 20), 1 sweet little Havanese dog, 1 kitty, And 22 chickens! (last I counted) AND...Married to one amazing man!

They are almost 4 months old. I need to take pictures of the hens, they turned out brown... Like their daddy.

Do you really think so? I dont know enough about selling eggs or breeding, keeping in mind that the hens and the roos are different colors, Kinda funny!

Thank you all for the compliments. I am going to have to post them on the forum soon, hubby says they have to go. I would be curious what would happen if I kept one and tried breeding them to my D'Uccle hen? what do you think I would get? hummm??? (Likely in more trouble with the hubby )
