Cyn, they are adorable love.gif

I don't know if I will be able to hatch any Delaware babies. Poor Soloman tries but those girls aren't very willing. They run away from him.

Tiny and Maretta were both making clucky sounds today. Lord help us if Tiny goes broody! hide.gif Molly has one tiny chick. Maretta's was a quitter for some reason so that's all she'll have. She's being a great mama so far, too.

Miranda will not make it through the night. This time, I'm pretty sure. She is sort of on her side and open mouth breathing with eyes closed. Caroline visited her today and they were having a quiet conversation, so I think Caroline knows what's happening.

ETA: I am so dog tired and folks on the forum are being a bit, well, cantankerous, for lack of a better word. I'm going to bed, all. It's 11:30 p.m.

Cyn, I'm so sorry to hear about Miranda. Poor sweet girl. I can only hope for both of you that she goes quietly in her sleep. hugs.gif

Kathy, is it too late to take you up on the offer to adopt those emu babies? They are just so dang cute!love.gif  I betcha dollars to donuts that by the time they're fully grown, you won't have problems with predators of any kind!!! wink.png Love the videos. Especially that Mike is walking around in short sleeve shirts! *sigh*

Someday, spring will return here as well. I think it has just gotten lost, somewhere along the way. roll.png

She's still breathing, but sitting, eyes closed. Won't be much longer. She's a tough hen.

On a brighter note, check out this 7 second video of thundering chicken feet and the Blue Tank running. Especially note Meg's wide load, LOL.

My favorite Speckled Sussex Hen Amazon has developed a spur on one leg.  She hasn't crowed yet.  But she has beaten up roosters she did not like, killed and eaten snakes and mice, tried to beat a hawk off her brood (she cried for hours after the hawk took her baby anyway, saddest sound I ever heard).  I do not expect her to crow as we do have roosters around.

LOL, I think she crows because 5 roos all around her crow!  But it's a she.  Hawks, are certainly daring.  I know the sound of crying.  I had separated a roo from the flock to let the other one have some freedom, and that roo cried all day.  I got tears in my eyes.  I gave him 3 hens (big pen), and he was happy.

My other roo, a BO , won't eat if he's separated from his flock.

Nice videos, Kathy.  They sure grow fast!!!  dundundundundun..... (humming Jaws), LOL

I love watching those tubbies run.  That's why I have JG's.

Cyn, I love the coloring on that Delawegger.  Can't wait to see what it turns out like.
