oh and 1 spoiled Delawegger.....Dad is out of town for a few days so Junebug took the opportunity to come inside for a hamburger, green beans and a cup full of water....watch a little TV and play xbox for a bit.  She was ticked off to be put back in a coop with chickens!

Ssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh  no one tell her that she is a chicken....not that she would believe you anyway but it upsets her.

I think calling Junebug spoiled is an understatement!

My Hubby, who went from "you must be crazy" when I got chickens, now lets Lola walk into the house.  She's got him wrapped around her little.....toe.

In all fairness to me....Junebug came to me this way....Cynthia's husband, Tom did it!  He had her turned into a little human by the time she was 3 or 4 days old.  She has climbed into my Jeep and I have had to turn around and come back home when she shows herself in the back...several of mine walk right in the front door like they own the house....all of them from Cynthia's.

I am however responsible for cooking for them and baking for them and spoiling them worse when they get here.  I shall be baking for her birds before I leave here next week so I can rush in, spoil them and cause havoc and then retreat back to Kentucky.  It just has to be that way.  hahahahaha

I am playing with my video editor. This is the first time I have grabbed a snapshot off a video.

OMG! They also swim?!?!? I can hardly wait to see the video of that! gig.gif

Karen, let's hope that maybe your boy's body is actually rallying and he can overcome it. It's rare, but it does happen. But, I know what you mean. Little Lisette rallied for about two days before she slid further down into the abyss that is Marek's Disease. sad.png It's such a horrible thing to watch, knowing that there is nothing you can do to stop it. I wouldn't wish Marek's on my worst enemy's flock! It's just too heartbreaking!!hit.gif Please, keep us posted on how the little man is doing. hugs.gif

That's right, Cetawin, blame it all on Cynthia and Tom, LOL.

Cynthia, I love your free ranging pic!  Looks beautiful!

Kathy, I was going to ask you the same question about if they swim.  What a riot!

Do they free range and stick around?

My rooster Clarence got scrambled eggs and sausage for dinner.  It makes him happy even if it won't save him.  Tonight he is not on the roost.  He's sleeping on the floor near the door.

Now I think I have another problem here.  My EE, Beezus, has been walking slow, and her abdomen is very much larger.  I'm talking about the area underneath and behind the legs.  Is that the abdomen?

The EE sounds like she could have Egg Yolk Peritonitis and/or be laying internally, Karen. Hard to say. That can also happen with the fluid when they have ovarian cancer and aren't necessarily internal layers-the circulatory system doesn't work well and they build fluid in the abdomen and in the lungs eventually.

I love seeing them range all over the 2 acre portion of the property that is fenced. Isaac was made for free ranging, as most Delawares are. You can barely see my driveway gate through the trees, so they are relatively safe, but poor old Ike can't go in four directions at once, which is why I'll be keeping the Delawegger, Gideon, for his backup man, to help keep those ladies in line.
