My Ameraucanas are FINALLY laying! (Well, one of of my two.) 39 weeks. (Yes, that's correct. Practically a full-term human gestation!) The egg is petite and very blue... I am thrilled. I got eight eggs today, which is a new high for 2012.

What do people do with all these chickens?!!

Nope...not hatching anything out this year. I'm getting some NN chicks next week, then the inn is full.

Dang I really want BLRW hen but I think my cat would eat chicks and I don't want to deal...

I have a friend that bought a started Lav AM during a meet up.  She has just gotten eggs and that meet up was A LONG time ago.  CRAZY!  You 2 are very patient.  I would have been shaking the soup pot in front of them.  gig.gif

Good luck w/ the NN's.  I wish I could close the inn doors but there always seem to be something I am after.  From the look of things my INN doors are going to be wide open for awhile.  I have a couple of projects I will be pursuing which involves me hatching again.

Congratulations Dana!!! That is awesome about the color!!!
I have a lavender hen from that batch that also lays a super blue egg. My only blue egg layer.
