So my question is now this:  wouldn't it be cheaper in the long run to live in that trailer and put the poultry in the house?

Now you know how I ended up with a hundred so quickly!

hide.gif  And this is just the beginning, because you find  all these breeds you can't live without and have to get another......

It was great meeting you and Rick,  Elara.

And Dana, One of your  ee's that Elara got had super super super long and soft feathers. Like a long-haired version of a cat only a chick.  Almost like a silkie to feel.

I got my four little Reprobates free.  All bottle fed three Withers and one Girl.    Sadly Miss Dewdrop passed away in the last snow storm, long term chronic illness.  She lived two years longer than I expected her to.  So now I have the Three amigos Diego Domino and Rikki.

edited to add I have had my goats almost seven years now.....

This just in:

Healthy Eggs Start Here
The Livery Feed & Ranch
Announces 2012 Great Starts

When: April 1, 2012

Where: The Livery Feed & Ranch
2537 Main Street
Ramona, CA 92065

Farm families have known the joys of raising their own poultry for years, but people everywhere are beginning to realize the many benefits of raising poultry, even if it’s right in their own backyards. There is nothing as gratifying as the ability to participate in the production of backyard food.

Throughout the duration of Chick Days, the dealership will offer advice and guidance on how to raise baby chickens from freshly hatched chicks through laying, including details on proper nutrition to provide the best eggs. The dealership will be providing special cost-savings on Purina brand feeds -- perfect feeds for these baby animals -- throughout Chick Days.

Chicken owners know their eggs are fresh and natural and can be confident in the treatment of the meat they eat as well as the fun activity for the whole family to get involved with. The Great Starts promotion coupled with Chick Days events are designed to show people how easy it is to raise their own chickens for eggs, meat or pets. Right now the interest in raising backyard poultry is continuing to grow, so don’t miss this window of opportunity.

I really want to see pictures of this little chickadee... I don't have anything more exotic than an Ameraucana here. I love genetics!
