I have his full brother here, Mr. Black.

Hi Aumlet! When he was here and sharing coop space and hens with Mr. Black, he was kind of goofy... he was underneath Mr. Black in the pecking order and wasn't quite the "ladies man" that he could have been. At Emily's he has his own small group of girls, and he is very happy. If you have a small group of hens and he's the only rooster, I think he'd be a nice addition. (She's got an up-and-coming Cream Legbar rooster, which is why Mr. Blue is looking for a new home.)

I have 6 hens (2 are purebred Ameraucanas) and no roosters. I'm in the suburbs, so I'd have to work out a system for a rooster to spend the night in the garage and be allowed outside at a reasonable hour. My chickens are also up against my house, and *I* don't want to be woken up in the pre-dawn or dawn!

Chicken Math

 * Falina (Barred Rock); Football (EE); Waffles (Buff Orpington); Lavender & Sparkles ( Ameraucanas);

   Daenerys (Bantam Cochin mix); Duster (Tolbent Polish/Silkie);  Mo (Silkie/Cochin); [Peep the pocket roo rehomed]; "doublemint twins" (Black Copper Marans); Princess Bubblegum and Blue Ivy (OE's )

* Cinna the Bossy Coop Bunny

* Three cats, Two dogs,  One awesome kid

My mom has two roosters illegally in La Mesa. She keeps them in the garage in dog kennels. One has to be picked up and brought in, the other knows the routine and puts himself to bed. It's doable!

WOW  now I know where your "determination"  come from. That would be a lot of headache for me but I imagine if your really want to do some thing you "can do it".

Yeah are Kids amazing !  This is in response to Renee's post about Steven. I was always surprised by some kids tolerance although others can be difficult. You know, I sure think that Parent's influence and example have much to do with how children behave. Just like animals. we all can learn tons from children. I'm being "thoughtful" here because I just returned from a visit with the kids etc.  bun.gif

The pallet will come here to me. I could probably do an El Cajon drop off.

went to check on the broodies in the bantam pen and found a mama with a little tiny black chick under her wing.oh to cute.

we have both seramas and moderns in there.what if it is a long legged serama? tahaha only black is a modern hen but have 2 serama roos and 2 modern roos.

this should prove to be interesting.

just had to share- it never gets old

3 layer crumbles

1 chick starter

2 scratch

I've been buying whatever the local feed stores have on hand, but this food sounds much better.
