I have a very young flock of birds.  Guineas and LF Chickens.   I am also a long distance caregiver.  My home where the livestock is is 60 miles east from where I live day to day..... Long story.  Everyone is on Bulk feeding and watering so I can be away for as much as five days.

Four days ago I fed and watered and said goodby to my kids.  When I was observing the older chickens I watched the Roo HotStuff.  Hes an Araucana.  He was guiding the Araucana hen over to a cardboard box and Awk awk awking at her. She would walk into the cardboard box and come around him.  She looked like she wasnt shure....  I thought to myself.... that looks an aweful lot loke a roo showing his hen where a good nest would be.

I looked over at the guineas and they were doing their guinea thing..... Chi Chi Chi ing Buck wheating and chasing and biting at the chickens through the fence.....  Oh well.

Today I went up to feed and water.  I had no expectations.....  Youngsters were just about out.... I fed them.  And filled their water.  Then I looked into the big chicken cage.  There in the dog house were five blue green eggs.  Woo Hoo Wittle itty bitty Pullet eggs Not just one or two but FIVE.....  she must have layed her first egg that day.

So I grab up the eggs delighted and take them to the truck.  Find the ceramic eggs to put back in the dog crate.... I bought two one for the guineas and one for the chickens.    So I put one in the dog crate and looked into the guinea pen one more time...... OH MY GAWD..... there were three just laying there in the bright sun.....  Woo Hoo.  So I grabbed them up and put a phony egg in one of the spots on the floor.    When I left One guinea hen was giving that phony egg the STINK Eye.  LOL

So here they are..... three Guinea eggs and five Arucana eggs....  too funny I have three Guinea hens and one Auracana hen.

Wooo Hooo we finally have eggsies...... yesss.gif   wee.gif

I wonder if its even worth while putting Pullet eggs in the incubator?  Will sitting in the sun for three days ..... oh well I think I just answered my first question.... Dang.

i hate to let them go.they have been so wonderful but have become quit aggressive to one of my wellies.

which brings me to my wellie rooster he too needs to find a new home or freezer camp.he has attacked me for the last time.

it has only happened twice but he does jared a lot when he goes anywhere near his coop.

I am going to expand my big coop but its going to take a couple of weeks.  Finally found a couple of teenagers that will do odd jobs around the place for me.  I will take the guineas if you haven't re-homed them by then I have two guineas separate from the big group that need to achieve flock status.  (they do better in larger groups about aggression)

I have too many roos right At four with one pullet now Or I would consider your Wellie.  That Barred Rock Roo does a double Doodle doo.  He belts one out the Doodle Doo  then does and after thought oooooo.  Too funny.  Hes getting TALL.  Mid thigh on me.  Hes getting just a bit pushy.  I can deal with it I just don't acknowledge or push them out of the way.  they just need more space.

OH and HotStuff is just too cool.....  Hes very sweet with his girl and keeps the others in line.   Kind of reminds me of that song.... "I'm to sexy for my .....    His name fits.... I need to get his girl a name though.   She has a very sweet voice....   made a little growl at me when I took her eggs too.   I hear Araucanas go broody.  So I need to get nest boxes in there soon.  If she does shes getting to raise as many eggies as she wants.

Yes I did it get it thank you, it's just really far for me to drive, (about 45-50 minutes one way) that's kinda why I offered before she took them, so I could meet somewhere close to get them, as I know Bird Crazy is far away.
