Dogs with mega esophagus

I just want to know how your dogs are doing, I know it's been a few years, and hopefully all is well. My foster was diagnosed with ME a month or so ago. He also is Hypothyroid. We have been elevating his feeding and limiting his water, but he still has bad days. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks so much for your story. We have a 5 week old small dog that was just diagnosed and the vet says 6 to 9 months for the little guys life expectancy. I have been so depressed!!!

My dog is 5. I got her when she was 8 months old. The ones that had her didn't want to deal with her problem so I took her. She take a lot of care but she's worth ever but of it. I hope your dog has lived a good life and is doing well.

Scout Joseph is a 6 year old GSD with a genetic form of ME. The breeder just let us have him when he was 9-10 weeks old. I put his food bowl on a small cabinet with a step so he has to put his front paws on the step to eat. I feed him a raw food diet and he has very little health issues. Vomits maybe once a month. I do mix a livestock vitamin into his food every other day. I also mix 3 eggs per day and a spoonful of yogurt. He gets alotta chicken and chicken broth cuz I raise them, as well as pork, as I too, raise pigs. I use hotdogs for snacks. Always making sure he gets red meat a couple times a week too. I put ACV in his water a few times a week too, as I do myself, the chickens and the pigs. He has a pillow on his futon to sleep on, so his head stays high. :p Overall, he is very healthy, as to date. Good Luck and Wish You all the Best!
