So Sorry to hear about your girl Rebel Yell. sad.png     Once we had a roo make a hefty slice on the side of one of my hens from his spurs.  (I learned how to cut the spurs after that but what a bloody mess......sickbyc.gif........)

I got my saddles from lovemychix, they worked well for my ameraucana and other girls but the ones I have aren't big enough for my orps. I just sent her a message to see if she has some for them. The ones I have held up to the weather and washings.

Tricia she is Beautiful and congrats on your win.  So happy for you.

Roger i am so sorry about your girl dying.  Those young boys can be rough sometimes. It is best to keep an eye on things since things can develop so fast. I remember after my pullet Taylor won Champion English, I had her in the breed pen. I went out feeding and noticed her eye was swollen just about shut. I got her up and isolated her and put antibiotic eye drops in the eye for  several days and saved her eye. I think she scratched it or it got pecked. I was so thankful she didnt lose her eye. Nothing I like worse than a one eyed chicken. It always seems like it is your best ones.  One friend of mine said she thought the predators carried around a Standard of perfection with them cause they always get your best ones.

Roger your going to have to get hatching to ensure more beautiful birds for the future.

My six week old chicks are eating amazing amounts of food daily.

Tricia that pretty black girl looks so much like my oldest hen we named grandma. She will be six yr. old in June. I don't know if she will even lay this year. I was out looking at her earlier and told my DH she is looking good again since her molt. I found a pic of Grandma when she was about 2.

I would like to say I had some great Orps to breed to my English birds
