my question would be , humans have 23 chromosomes, chickens have something like 47? doesnt that kind of work in your favor if your inbreeding a little, especially if your line is robust?  even in horses and dogs , pedigree parent is no guarentee of a kentucky derby winner either..thou it does help...ray connor 17 time national champion aussie breeder in australia freind said to him, give me your third worst, i will come back and beat you with them in 3 years...he did just that..maybe it was his knowlege of coaxing those genes out?

A few pictures of my girls, excuse their ruffled feathers, they're starting to look a bit tattered from being in the breeding pen.

They weren't the easiest chicks to get pictures of, they're scared of anything that moves right now. LOL.

Cute chicks.. The momma is beautiful. I am not that familiar with Ameraucanas and standards there is to be an Ameraucana. So is the pretty momma a EE or an Ameraucana. She is just beautiful. :0)

Sorry I put my quote on the wrong post and don't know how to delete. This is the original post. I got 3 girls from Richard and I am trying to find a roo Imported Chocolate Orpington for them. The owner of this bird in the pic that it was a boy but, I am thinking girl. I posted this once before but, I only got one guess. Does anyone else have an opinion.

It's clearly a wyndotte comb,and to me they look like a straight comb wyndotte.If you look at the base of the comb it preceeds the rear of the skull and has a wide base,They are very good in color and would be great if someone crossed them and got them to british standard,but 1000.00 for a pair is a little steep for me at the moment for project bird's...god knows i have enough going on right now,lol.

Wyandotte's have a rosecomb........nothing like the comb in that picture. The comb is correct for an Orp, but it is not a perfect comb.......it also is not that bad. Maybe a one point deduction in a show........certainly not a big deal.
