Do Goats and Chickens get along?

I keep my chickens, ducks and goats together. They free-range on our acre pasture though.

My pygmy wether, Dexter, actually had a little love fling with one of my muscovies, it was rather odd.

I have separate shelters for the goats and the birds, but Dexter will often sleep in the coop with the birds, especially when its raining.

One family I know has goats... the chickens are able to fly inside or even walk in through openings in the fence. They seem to get along just fine. The chickens do run free, though.

I am getting older and am becoming more of a home body due to some health problems. I got my first chickens last year and have added and added and now have 21 chickens......4 of which turned out to be roosters. I want to keep them because 2 are frizzles and one is a silkie. I have the newest chickens separated from the older ones and my original rooster is in with the older hens. I am planning on getting a goat (or 2) in a couple weeks and I am very thankful to have this website to get info from. Thanks everyone!

As long as you don't want to milk the goats, chickens get along fine. However, with my set up they flew over to the "people side" where I milk and messed up the milk stand all the time. The chickens have been moved to a different building now.

i think they'd be fine together even though i haven't tried it i've had sheep with chickens and they got along fine you might need to get 2 pygmy's they tend to get lonely by themselves the area you plan on keeping them in i dont know about it i usaully keep my goats on 1 1/2 acres sectioned off in two 4 different sections the first section is a pen that is 70x 70 the 2nd is 50x50 the 3rd is 50x20 and the last is 50x40 and a pen that is 15x50 for winter with a 6x6 shed part that is hooked to my goat barn with 7 goat stalls and a hay loft
