No shower for the husband; have him work hard all day in the sun-hang up the stinky T-shirt.  Best deer deterrent that I have ever come up with other than electric fence.  The deer around here just giggle at the "application of urine."

Yeeeeeeeah... -.- those little guys... *Groan* I do NOT like them!

I think the plan will have to be put up a fence, hang little bottles of coyote urine, Spray down the plants with liquid fence, put out plastic bags, hang Irish Springs soap, sprinkle dog hair, put out a scare crow, Hang CDs on strings and lace the whole thing with barbed wire! (And put out a camera to watch the action lol)

Maybe that'll stop 'em!!

Thanks to all for your suggestions! smile I am also wondering if I am having a problem with a ground hog or some such.... hmmmm.

Only thing I can think of is to put something near that would "appeal" to them, laced with say, cayenne pepper inside of it. That way you can build up a food adversion to it, much like people do when they get sick from a certain food. For example, I hate jelly beans but that's only because I went on a field trip to a jelly belly factory when I was in elementary school. After a few minutes of trying them, I threw up. In all likelyhood, it was probably the motion sickness from the bus, coupled with an empty stomach that caused me to throw up. But because of that episode, I refuse to eat anything resembling a jelly bean. I would imagine it would be the same thing for whatever is having it's way with your garden. Place enough things around there for it to eat but lace them with something that would cause them to think twice about eating from your garden.

I'd say an electric fence around the garden would keep whatever it is away.

2 Boston Terriers, 2 Paraketts, 1 Zebra Finch, 1 Desert Tortoise, 3 Golden Sebrights, 2 Silver Sebrights, a German Spitzhauben, 3 Polish, 2 EE's, 3 Red Silkies, 2 White Silkies, and a Modern Game Bantam, a Khaki Campbell, a Cayuga, and a mean Piegon.

The deer eat our pumpkins in dry years.  Since they are eating the tops of the tomatoes, I would think it's definately deer.

A friend of mine has big problems with deer and her garden.  She resorted to a double wall garden.  First wall was 5 feet tall.  the second wall was 4 feet inside that wall and was 8 feet tall, all with electric fence and the top of each wall was a hot wire.  You had to go through 2 gates to get in, both with electric fencing.

Do you have access to a game camera?  It is always helpful to know your enemy when fighting a battle!

We planted several peach trees last year and when they were just starting to get ripe last month they started to disappear and we were finding the peach pits on the ground by the trees.  We put up a game camera expecting to find deer eating the peaches, but instead found a masked bandit with a ring tail climbing our tiny trees eating all the peaches!

The tree is just to the right of center in the pictures and the peach thief is in the tree!  Look for the ring tail and glowing eye!
