Do baby chicks sleep with their heads on the floor?

Thanks for the responses! I just got my chicks this morning. So cute!! I've been watching them for the past couple hours. They were motoring all over. Drinking water. Snacking. Peeping. One kept walking the perimeter, knocking on the cardboard. LOL! Then CLUNCK.

One at a time they just laid flat. I started freaking out! I hadn't read about that anywhere. THANKS GUYS!!

The girls (3 weeks 5 days) are in the big coop for their first night. Of course I'm up and checking on them. They seem to be handling it better than I am. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Thanks to all who have posted here! I got baby chicks today and they did just as everyone here says they would. Stretched out, chin to floor I thought for sure they were dying. So glad to know I'm not the only one who panicked and am thankful for your wise advice!

That's really just how they sleep my baby chicks and all baby chicks do this, it's very common.

OH THANK GOODNESS I found this post!! I think I just found myself stopped breathing! Whew! I just added another bulb and then they fell out...I was thinking "Oh my gosh...I think I just overheated them". Quite the opposite I am assuming!

Gosh, I thought mine were dead the first day when I checked on them and saw them sleeping. Sometimes they even stretch their legs out behind them too which is really quite funny to see.
