Does anyone know/have the best time for placing orders for spring chicks. I'd like to get a number all together and not in multiple shippment but really don't know when I should be placing the orders. I have yet to order from a hatchery...

Generally, they will send you a catalog or post their prices/availability the first of the year...it will not hurt to call the ones you want to order from now though just to be sure and be on their list.

Go to the hatchery's website.

7.5 acres in the western Catskill foothills of garden, blueberries, 4 cats plus 20 Black Stars, 12 RIR, 7 EE's, 4 Brown leghorns, 4 BR, a SS and 6 guinea keats,  including one very happy EE rooster. In 33 yrs of keepin' chickens I shoulda learned somethin', but unfortunately I'm addicted to the MCMurray catalog.
