im sure any animal would be happier if it had full freedom.
dogs & cats are potty trained so they can come in th house so why not chickens??

Hi great thanks!!! any advice on keeping chick warm at night? electric blanket? he will be rescued from the grinder of a chicken farm.. i can get a pet electric blanket as its winter here (NZ) thanks

Look at Blooie's thread on Mama Heating Pad here on this forum. It would be the answer to your question. If you are just raising one little chick, it's going to be awfully fretful and lonely without other chicks to cuddle up to. Could you rescue at least one more?
If not, rolled up socks under the heating pad will make it seem like other chicks are under there to snuggle with.

Did you get away with it? I have a chick I believe is a roo and I am oh so attached to him but I have read roos crow at all hours... ? @KellyandKatie

I had a few who loved to hang out in the kitchen with me.. I would leave the sliding door open and they would come in and hang out.. looking for any crumbs to clean up.
