Is this an orpington?

We were given three orpingtons. Two buff and one white. They hatched in June 2010. One of the buff has orange legs and we were told orpingtons have white legs. Here is a picture of miss white and mac. Can anyone help us?

Looks like a Buff Rock.

nope.  smile  Maybe a cross between an Orp and a Rhode Island red, or maybe a red sex link.  None of my buff orps have yellow legs, but the ones whose mother was a buff Orp and father was an RIR do have yellow legs.

Momma loves her babies!  8 cats, 45 inside birds, 3 guineas,  RIRs, BRs,  BOs ,  Lorpie girls, Golden Comets, OEGB  BBreds, bantam frizzle cochins,  3 white Silkies, EEs, some silkie/cochin mixes, silkie/frizzles, ducks (3 white Pekins, 1 buff Saxony & 1 Silver Appleyard), and 1 Blue Slate turkey who thinks she's a chicken...   (did I miss anyone?...)  Nope!  Now let's all have pie.

The lady we got them from bought 25 orpingtons from a hatcherie, but we were questioning it cause she is smaller more freindly and acts way diffrent than the other 2 orpingtons.

Sometimes
a hatchery will get Buff Orps and Buff Rocks mixed up as chicks since they look so much alike at that age. Another thing that could have happened was that they were sold out of Buff Orps so they substituted Buff Rocks.

We hatched Buff Orpington chicks from pure Buff Orpington stock and ended up with a chick identical to the one above.  I think it might be a Buff Orp.

It's probably a Buff Plymouth Rock. They are often mixed up in hatchery orders, it seems.

Looks nothing like my BO~ too dark and not fluffy enough, even at 13 weeks (which I assume the pic was taken at). Also my BOs legs look like old mens legs at the beach- pale and white :)

700

Wilma (BO) and Bea (Prod. Red) at that age
