He was delicious! My 10 yr old son will tell you it was the best chicken he ever ate!
20 weeks old, and he was the smallest cockerel, weighing a mere 1.85 lbs. going into the oven, but a nice meal for 2 of us twice

This is my #1 roo, 22 weeks old now. My 5 Sumatras have taken to becoming roof birds lol. They love to fly up on top of the roof. This morning they even paraded to the front of the house and looked all excited when they saw me, lol. I had to shoo them back, as I don't want them getting any ideas they can range in the front yard. They have made their way over the fence into the neighbor's yard at least a couple times, which worries me because they have 4 dogs. Does anyone know, if they are there and a dog comes running, will they fly back over the fence quickly enough?

This is Honey Pie. Monday, she laid her first egg, my very first egg as a chicken keeper too! She laid it on her 23 week birthday:

Then Tuesday, she laid another (Monday's on left, Tuesday's on right):

Here is Honey Pie's sister, Sugar Pie. I think she'll be next in line to lay, out of my 3 Sumatera hens:

Here is Sugar Pie (23 weeks old), eating next to a RIR chick that's 9 weeks old. The chick is almost the same size already. Is that a pretty standard comparison for the 2 different breeds, or are my Sumateras small?
