not at all, I've never seen a bad flighty LF  either though. My bantams virtually run to the gate to see me, then you have to kick them out from under your feet to avoid stepping on them. Never been aggressive at all, never bowed up at me, nothing, just an all around good long tail

.

on the skin thing, no they are yellow skin birds, the face is the only "black" gypsy part, pretty much a dirty red/ black mix

that's what I always thought. Mine have yellow skin. But the internet is full of hatcheries and sites that say Sumatra's have black skin. I assume just more mis information on these birds. But you never know. Could Americans have bred the skin color out of them?

I'm always shocked how people take something typed on a forum so personally :) If I say it here I have done it. No Bull poop from me. I'm not arguing, I'm stating what I see in MY flock of 10 years.I'm NOT P.C. If that offends please just block me :)

Thankyou , they sound like they'd be interestibg to deal with, how's their curiousity level? I've noticd some breeds and bloodlines are more curious than others, my experience comes from an Appaloosa mare and her foals. I don't think curiousity is limited to one species or another.

could be possible, havent done that much digging into their past, but it's not just American lines. But yes I trust Hatchery info about as much as I do a Politicians !!

Remember they also say phoenix get 20 foot tails and come from Japan too   haha

lol. No doubt! Nearly EVERY bit of hatchery info on Sumatra's is wrong. As are the "chicken magazine" articles on them.

yep, I've Googled around on them and 1 in about 10 sites have correct info, many say they are  black boned, black meat, and black skinned just like silkies...they arent..plain and simple.... they need to stick with back yard  layer breeds and just leave the rare stuff alone if they cant get it right

I have a splash pullet. I think several others have splash as well. My blue hen who mates with a blue rooster hatched the splash.
