I'm super new to this - eglu was ordered yesterday - deciding if I should get their hens or some locally - any advice? Is this swap a good place for me to get some new layers?

Hey folks,

Can I get a membership when I get there?  Also, is this one back at the club or at someone's house?

AND, would anyone be interested in a SQ porcelain d'uccle roo for $15?  I got him at Congress last Jan from the guys from Birden Castle Poultry (CT).  He's not particularly tame, but definitely gets the job done with the ladies!  His name is Reginald, "Reggie" for short.

ETA: His comb is large, but he has excellent qualities otherwise...

I may also have an EE pullet or two, and possibly a few others...

Take everything I say with a nice healthy dose of smoked salt.  It is the internet, after all. smile.png
Bantam cochins, d'Uccles, silkies, EEs, and some wonderful mixes.
Doing my part to spread the poultry love as the Chickeness of Somerville through my chicken concierge business, Yardbirds Backyard Chickens.  Here's me in the news on NPR, the Somerville Patch, and Animal Planet's "Pets 101", and...

I've never been to a swap meet.  What do you think the chances are of finding a blue or splash maran rooster?

I also am not sure how to join, etc.  I saw someone else asking but didn't see a response.  It looks like fun.

FBCM, Ameraucanas, White & Black Silkies, Assorted Bantams

Chicks, Chicks & MORE Chicks:

If you are going to sell then you have to join, you can join at the club up in the hall for $25.00 for family or $20.00 for yourself i think, and it covers the whole season.
if you are not selling then it is free.
