Anywho--what Veggies do Ducks like to eat??
So far, my Musvovys LOVE Green Beans (from the garden), they DO NOT like Tomatoes.
They also like the Zucchini Plants, but, the not the Zucchini itself.. very interesting..

Are there any veggies they should NOT have? And how about fruit..

When mine helps me weed the garden, he loves onions and leeks. Lays in the middle of the rows and chews off the green tops. He'll go through a few plants really quick. Unless he spots rasberries or strawberries, that's like ducky crack for him. Also, cucumber! I gave him cucumber as a baby, and he ate it and went completely nuts! Sprinting around, jumping on things, screeching, absolutely crazy like I'd never seen. Sprinted all over the hous for several minutes, climbing on furniture and us and anything in his way. He was under a week old. Ever since, he'll grab cucumber chunks and after eating them get sooo excited and just freak out for several minutes.

And peas of course, we'd throw them across the living room and he'd fetch them. Plus, cantalope, corn on the cob, doesn't like lettuce or spinach, zuccini plant leaves, peaches, really anything you give to him. LOVES FISH! We catch fish and go to clean them. He'll run up, grab a 20 inch fish and take off with it. Eats the guts, eggs, eyes, anything he can tear off or get away with. I do keep the bones away from him though. The other ducks don't like as many things, I guess cause they're not as spoiled. They're scared of live minnows, or anything other than grain really.

Um... they really like most greens... from my experience...

Didn't bother him, he just likes the green tops. I try not to let him eat them, but when I'm weeding sometimes he races to them and starts chowing down. I do have the garden fenced, so he's only in there when I am. Didn't know onions could be bad for them. He really likes them.

Great ideas!
Another question---when you offer them veggies, do you just give them the whole cucumber per se.? or if not, how small do you cut it for them?
I wonder if mine just dont want to try what I'm giving them, or if I need to cut it smaller..

As far as the onions.. I've never heard they are bad for them, just that they would make the eggs taste funny.

I have runner, mucovy and muscovy mixes and they all love to eat weeds. Watemelon is the #1 snack they go into an eating frenzy over it.

There is a huge thread about treats you can give your ducks, in the first first post, the sticky notes.... look there....

I read somewhere that ducklings like hard-boiled eggs so I thought I'd try it. They're so cute when they see me coming with their bowl of smashed hard-boiled eggs they go crazy and then down three eggs in a matter of 30 seconds, there's four ducklings. If you want to give your babies a real treat try some hard-boiled eggs they will love you forever !!
