Ohiki Chicken Thread - Page 22

All mine have the green legs, but some have the longer legs. Would it be better to breed only the shorter legged to short legs or still use the longer legged chicks? I am not trying to hurry I want to keep mine for a while just to learn about them and let them mature out to see how they turn out. I have been happy with mine and look forward to working with mine

Hi, I would go with type first....If it has a great body good cushion I still use them also.... Now if you have many to choose from then use the short leg birds. I still dont cull for leg color just type I can try to get them all green leg down the road but for now type is number one...There almost there....BUT the number one thing is feather stubble's....Cull all of those!!.....TM

My wife helped me get some great pics yesterday. It was overcast all day. Here are a pair of my Wheatons. They are pretty much finished, breeding true good type, white lobes and green legs. If I were to improve anything I would like to add a little more softness to the tail..
