How to sex guineas

I am a newbie to guineas. I am a quail lady  smile How can you tell a male from female?

You wait till they are old enough to start making loud guinea noises. smile The females will make a two syllable noise that sounds like buck-wheat!

I think all of them are females then haha! they are 4 month olds and I have 5 of them

also the wattles on the male are bigger than the female, yours might be too young to tell that way though

I think mine are just too young...

Mine are buckwheating already and they are only 10 weeks old. From what I heard, the males never make the buckwheat noise, so that's the best way to tell if they aren't full grown yet. So I've heard, anyways! smile

Yes males  do not make  2 syllabe  noise,  but females  are capable   both,   single  sound and buckwheat   noise,  so one need to listen  to them   carefully  and not to make rush judgement as  for their sex.

Good  Lord  made birds  of meat   for us  to eat.
