??? about breeding old english game bantams

Anybody have any sq brown reds? Id like to see pics, I'm looking to better my brown red flocks, i seem to be producing better hens than roos, and I'm only hatching 1 roo per 12 pullets....so I'm looking for some to cross with mine. And if brown reds are suppose to breed true and not throw black chicks, then why is it that if u want to make brown reds u breed a bb red roo x black hen? Seems like of course automatically that would produce a black often, since its a direct gene. Lol i need to get a genetics book.
I also breed standard gamefowl and you can breed father/daughter 7+ times into purity and still have a 1/16 chance of impurity.

bbr X black shouldn't normally give brown reds. Unless the black is birchen based with sufficient melanizers to create an all black bird. And even then, it seems like there is likely to be a genetic mish-mash of offspring.

I am sure feathersite and the OEGB club forum have plenty of pics of brown reds.

Anybody ever bred silver birchen with brown red? I have a project I'm working on with my bantam gamefowl, just wondering what happens if you bred em together......any answers would be appreciated.
