When do Buff Orpingtons start laying?

I got 3 orpington hens ,there comb is just to show with some light pink.Does the winter time have anything to do with when they may lay? And will they get into he nest boxes or will they just lay on the floor? I also have rri hen she is older,and very rude to them ,do you think she will get better as time goes by?

I have a 24 week old and she isn't looking like she is going to lay soon!Does anyone know how soon she should lay! I wish that she should hurry up and grow!! I know this thread was made a long time ago but I am hoping someone sees this and replies because I am lost!!!

Ahhhhh... Ok, yup! Thank you!!! This thread gives me hope, and a better understanding, too! Somewhere, I'd read that BOs started laying around 18weeks! I was starting to get worried that there was something wrong, at nearly 20weeks, with no signs of readiness. Now, I can chill, and not be worried that I'm doing something wrong - our not doing something right!
