Your talking about Cowboygourmet,
I have a good line of single comb LF reds that are mostly Denny Myers stock (out of Columbus Ohio), I was asking because I didn't think there is any true/ pure Choctaw Reds around any more.

From what I see he has good color but may be lacking depth of color as I do see some light spots in the breast plumage color, he needs more lower chest, he looks to have some angle to his back, [you want a flat back] and needs more tail angle.

If you get a good hen with a full chest, flat back, good tail angle and good depth of color to breed him to, I think you will do all right.

Chris

I've been going through this thread and Chris seems to be expert on this breed. I looked that picture over and I don't see how anyone could evaluate that bird from the picture shown, but then I'm a novice and I'm sure Chris must be an APA Judge. I personally like the bird even the pictue shows him in an awkward pose

Where did the pure Choctaw Rhode Island Reds come from? I never heard of them.

I have heard of Mohawk, but that is not the same?

Is the red male in your picture a rose comb or a single comb?

Have not posted in a while. Many people are getting back into the old Rhode Island Red Large fowl that is single combs. Should be many getting a good start this fall once the adult birds are grown. This is a old line that will be 100 years old this sping. Bob Blosl
