How do you get a splinter out from under your fingernail?

* I thought not. "Black salve" AKA "Drawing Salve" is a black greasy TAR based ointment. Comes in a aluminum squeeze tube. Drawing salve draws or pulls things like splinters out of the skin. Unfortunately, it's one of those GREAT 'old-time' remedies that are getting hard to come by. Had to have the pharmacist order my latest tube.

* Either store may have it if you ask for it. RITE AID is gone here. When you get some-- you'll wanna wear a band-aid(s) because it WILL stain, esp. white cotton stuff. Smells just like tar, takes a few days to work s/t out of the skin.

Ok thanks

I either dig them out with a pin or scrape upward along the splinter and see if you can move it back to the entry point enough to pull it out. Ouch!

when the chicken house was almost done, my dad showed me his work nd i put my hand on the door, and it slid down and got SPEARED by a piece of weed, i steed there crying while my dad got a tweezers soaked in peroxide for me, it was a painful takeout but my chickies got to their house!

I don't know if there is a Watkins home products in your area, but they sell a salve called petro carbo salve,it will draw splinters out, it is based on carbolic acid salve, that grandma used to use. It is sold by representatives, like avon is, you will need to look for someone who sells Watkins, maybe google it in your city/state.
