Well it has been over a year and I am dragging this thread out of the attic.
I have 2 new litters of Silver fox rabbits that were both born on June 15, 2011. Weights on them have been alittle better then the last group was.
We are looking at each and everyone of them and putting weights up on our website. This bunch is beautiful and very friendly. I have already sold one buck yesterday to a nice guy that had bought some Does from me last year. He was very impressed with the Buck's coloring and fur.

The weights on them as of Aug 20 were
3.9pounds, 3.10, 3.82, 3.76, 3.10, 3.8 for the first litter
3.6 pounds, 3.12, 3.12, 3.13, and 3.8 for the second litter

This time I will wait until around mid September before we process any of them for the freezer and I will come back here and post the final results. I am trying to find them all homes but will keep back at least 1 for processing. I am going to make a post over in the For Sale session now or you can see pictures and weights on them from the website www.sandspoultry.com

See you back in a few weeks for final results.

Here is the update on the Cal/NZ kits, at 4 weeks old in oz

22.6 + 17 + 20.4 + 19.4 + 19 + 17.4 + 16.4 = 131.6
and the Silver Fox were 120.6 that is only a difference of 11 oz.

As for food the Silver fox kits and mama ate 26 cups and the Cal/NZ kits and mama ate 28 cups plus I give them 1/2 to 3/4 of a carrot every 2 or 3 days.
I am thinking the gap is closing on the weight between the 2 litters. To the eye the Cal/NZ look bigger and longer but the weight is saying different. The SF kits are more active. At the 2 week point the weight difference was a whole kit but now it is about 3/4 of a kit.

Next weigh in will be at 6 weeks of age in 2 weeks.
Hi there, I know this is an old post. However I wanted to thank you for giving me a perspective. I'm feed fodder and I wondered if the kits were doing fairly well. This is my first time with bunnies and I have experimented right away!!! HA! I weighed my litter of 9 (Doe=NZBxFG & Buck=CA) and they came in at 112 oz +/- at 24 days. I'll check them again at 28 days to see if I'm approaching close enough. I know that with fodder the meat rabbits will come in a tad slower for weight gain, so I'm running the numbers. I do feed pellets, but they prefer the sprouted grains (fodder), I also give hay. As to the weight I'll check online to see what they tend to weigh in at a little later. Thank you again!
